This is to request you to help my cousin, Sagar who is undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) i.e. Bone Marrow Cancer at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.
He underwent his first Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) in July,2005. Doctors say that his first BMT has relapsed, had undergone his second BMT on 11th- April-08 followed by post BMT treatment. The cost of the treatment is estimated to be 12 Lakh Indian Rupees($30,000) which may increase in case of any unforeseen
complications. As of June, 2008 the treatment cost increased drastically as his severity of symptoms kept increasing.
Sagar comes from a middle class family, his father is a Teacher at Local Government School.The cost of first BMT was also estimated to be 12 Lakh Rupees. His father's savings and generous contributions from friends and well wishers and some Cancer Funds have helped us to raise the money for his previous treatment.
We are hoping that this time also contributions from poeple like you will help us in raising money for his treatment. I request you to contribute for his treatment and help him to fight against this deadly disease. You can still do your part no matter how small the amount is.

As on 06/24/2008: Sagar is in critical condition with his severe jaundice and blood stools causing him to fall unconscious several times in a day. Doctors say this condition is not a good sign as his CMV virus hasn't slowed down attacking his vital organs (liver). They are saying it is very difficult to bring him back to normal as his GVHD is still in stage-4(severity is high).
