Sagar is doing his first year B.E Mechanical Engineering at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father is a teacher at local Government School. His mother a house wife and he has a brother who is doing his +2 at local school.
Sagar was initially diagnosed for AML in April,2005. He underwent Chemotherapy sessions, followed by Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at CMC Vellore in Jul, 2005. The cost for the treatment was 12 Lakh Indian Rupees. Apart from his father's savings, funds had to be raised for his treatment with the help volunteers, contributors, friends and well wishers like you.
Post BMT, he recovered well with less side affects i.e. GVHD. He used to get regular checkups at CMC Vellore. He joined Bachelor of Engineering course at Kurnool, getting ready for his first year exams. In March 2008, he had fever and joint pains. When he consulted the CMC Hospital, they did some tests and determined that his first BMT has relapsed.
He was aspiring to become a Doctor, his medical treatment at CMC Vellore didnt give him much time to prepare towards the Medical Entrance exam, however he didnt give up his studies. He gone back to his pre school,taken up Mathematics and joined Engineering course at Kurnool District,Andhra Pradesh.
Being on medication didnt stop him to exercise to keep himself fit and fight this deadly disease. He likes sports. Before joining his Engineering course, he was working as LIC Agent to keep himself busy and has volunteered for charity events as well.
