This is to request you to help my cousin, Sagar who is undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) i.e. Bone Marrow Cancer at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.
 
He undergone his first Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) in July,2005. Doctors say that his first BMT has relapsed, so he has to undergo his second BMT on 11th- April-08  followed by post BMT treatment. The cost of the treatment is estimated to be 12 Lakh Indian Rupees($30,000) which may increase in case of any unforeseen 
complications. 
 
Sagar comes from a middle class family, his father is a Teacher at Local Government School.The cost of first BMT was also estimated to be 12 Lakh Rupees. His father's savings and generous contributions from friends and well wishers and some Cancer Funds have helped us to raise the money for his previous treatment.
 
We are hoping that this time also contributions from poeple like you will help us in raising money for his treatment. I request you to contribute for his treatment and help him to fight against this deadly disease. You can still do your part no matter how small the amount is.

Update in brief: As of today 5/06/2008 he is recovering slowly and his blood cell count is 7600,  platelets 1,80,000,. He is taking the food orally  and only rice, dal, rasam, fruit juices and ice cream he is able to digest.
